The Superior Athos Flueless Gas FIre
The Athos flueless gas fire, from fire manufacturer Superior, offers sleek, clean styling that will bring drama and ambience to both modern and traditional interiors. The simple design of the Athos is the key to its versatility. A black aluminum frame surrounds the fire box, which is also all black. The flames are created by a horizontal burner, giving the Athos the feeling of a living landscape.
The Athos flueless gas fire is 515mm in height, 925mm wide and projects 180mm when mounted on the wall. No hearth, inset, chimney or flue is needed, making for easy installation in a range of environments as long as the room size is at least 40m3 (typically a room that is 13'4" by 13'4" with 8' ceilings). It also requires a vent that is 100cm2.
The Superior Athos flueless gas fire is 100% fuel efficient and puts out from 2.0kW to 3.5kW of heat on natural gas. Using patented “clean burn” catalytic technology, the Athos actually improves the quality of the air in the room, reducing common pollutants and allergens such as cigarette smoke and odors. The catalytic converter itself requires no cleaning, and current research estimates that it has a life span of at least 27 years.
With the thermal glass front, oxygen depletion sensor (ODS) and flame failure device, the Superior Athos flueless gas fire also offers the best in safety features.
The Athos comes with a manual control system which is easy to operate and quick to start up.
